Ágnes Németh is a wine journalist, founder and editor-in-chief of Hungarianwines.eu. Previously, from 2004 she was the editor-in-chief of the Hungarian edition of Decanter magazine, and from 2010 she led VinCE magazine until 2016, when she moved to Spain, Penedés wine region with her family, where she is based currently. Back in Hungary she organized an annual, top quality wine event called VinCE Budapest Wine Show with special guests from all over the world (Jancis Robinson, Gary Vaynerchuk, Piero Antinori, Miguel Torres – just to name a few). Her main project, Hungarianwines.eu is dedicated to promoting Hungarian wine to the world. It is not backed by any governmental body, the work is voluntary, supplemented by a small subscription fee from wineries. She travels regularly and judges at different international wine competitions and has been the speaker of many wine events. In 2023 she launched SparklingSpain.com, an English language online publication about the colourful world of Spanish sparkling wines from cava to corpinnat. She is the organizer of the annual international wine writing competition called WebWineWriting.
