He has been working with wine for 40 years. Initially, he started making wine from his own vineyards in the Balaton uplands, and was one of the first to market wines bottled under his own name (1988). In 1993, he and his partners founded and built the D\u00f6rgicsei P\u00e1ntlika winery, where he has now managed the cultivation and processing of 45 ha of grapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was Chief Judge of the Order of the Seven Wine Judges, founded in 1988. This order of seven began to organise the first Sommelier Courses in Hungary, which developed into the Budapest Sommelier School, of which he was a teacher for 25 years. He taught mainly wine technology, tasting techniques, grape varieties and sparkling wine. It was here that the team of sommeliers who transformed the status of wine in Hungarian gastronomy studied. For his successful teaching activities, he was awarded the Par Excellence prize by the Hungarian Sommelier Association. The Order of Seven Wine Judges has initiated a number of innovations in the field of wine, and the Wine Producer of the Year Award was established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He is the co-author of several books on wine: The Book of Wines (1995), The Hungarian Book of Wines (1999) and The Wine Book, from grape to glass, published in 2021, which summarises in nearly 500 pages all the knowledge a sommelier needs to know about wine. His articles have also appeared in several national magazines. He is also a permanent member of the jury of several wine competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
